It's sometimes impossible to remember the seemingly endless passwords and secret answers required to access our social media, online banking and email accounts.
And now fed-up internet users have been revealing the most bizarre - and often hilarious - security questions they have ever come across.
The obscure queries compiled here range from 'what is your neighbour's pet's name?' to the mind-bending 'what is your favourite security question?'

Typically, when you set up an account you will answer a confidential question so that you can recover your account if you forget your password, by providing the same answer you entered the first time around.

The random requests prompted Instagram user loristhen to ask incredulously: 'Seriously, who comes up with these?'

The tricky questions ranged from the names neighbour's pets to favourite sports columnists

Some of them were more light-hearted including asking about favourite dairy products

Some questions were cheeky - like this one asking the user to pick their least favourite relative
Other obscure questions included what time of day a user was born to the colour of the house they grew up in.
Another asked: 'What is the first name of your hairdresser/barber?'
Reacting to the bizarre questions, one user said: 'I'm kind of impressed with how strange the questions are.'
